Kittitas County Voluntary Stewardship Program Work Plan Submitted for Approval
Washington State’s Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP) provides an alternative approach for counties to address Washington State’s Growth Management Act requirements. The program uses a watershed-based, incentive-based process to protect critical areas, promote viable agriculture, and encourage cooperation among diverse stakeholders. Kittitas County submitted their VSP Work Plan to the Washington State Conservation Commission on March 1, 2018. The public is invited to comment on any VSP work plan submitted to the VSP Technical Panel within 14 days of submittal. The public has until March 15, 2018 to comment on the plan. The public can use this public comment form to capture any comments made. The work plan can be accessed from the Conservation Commission’s VSP web page. KCCD Annual Meeting
The Kittitas County Conservation District Board of Supervisors invites our landowners, producers, partners and the public to join us for our Annual meeting and dinner. This year we are hosting the event together with the Kittitas County Farm Bureau and their Annual Meeting on February 22, 2018 at the Armory Building at the Kittitas County Event Center beginning at 6:30 PM. Dinner is $20/person payable at the door. Please RSVP by February 8.

KCCD Notice of Re-Election
The Kittitas County Conservation District Board of Supervisors hereby informs the voting public that the incumbent, Jeff Brunson, has been re-elected to the currently open seat by reason of being the only person filing for the position by the filing deadline of January 16, 2018. Therefore, no poll site, absentee balloting or mail balloting will be performed on February 13, 2018, pursuant to WAC 135-110-370. 2018 Board of Supervisors Election
Election Notice Election Resolution #2017-005 of the Kittitas County Conservation District Board of Supervisors was adopted on December 14, 2017. The scheduled date of the KCCD election is February 13, 2018. Polling stations are located at the following:
All polling station are open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.There are two ways to vote in the KCCD election. Vote in-person at one of the polling locations listed above on February 13, 2018 or through absentee ballots. Absentee (mail-in) ballots must be requested by 4:30 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2018.

The filing deadline for the elected position is 4:30 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Notice of Expiring Position
The Kittitas County Conservation District (KCCD) has one expiring position on the Board of Supervisors. The Board is made up of five members, three of which are elected locally and the other two are appointed by the Washington State Conservation Commission. One elected position expires in 2018.
Individuals interested in the elected position must submit a Candidate Information Form (click here) to the KCCD office (2211 W Dolarway Road, Ste 4, Ellensburg) by 4:30PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Candidates wishing to have their name pre-printed on the election ballots must also submit a nominating petition complete with 25 valid signatures of registered voters residing in the KCCD boundaries. Any candidates not submitting a nominating petition will be a “declared write-in” and their name will not be pre-printed on the ballots. Nominating Petitions (click here) must also be submitted by 4:30 PM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Both the candidate information form and the nominating petition form are available on the KCCD website (www.kccd.net) or by contacting the KCCD at 925-3352 or 2211 W. Dolarway Rd, Suite 4, Ellensburg. The election is scheduled for February 13, 2018.
The KCCD is a political sub-division of the state with over a 75 year history of serving the landowners, farmers and the general public in Kittitas County. The Board of Supervisors completes long range and annual plans that direct natural resource priorities and activities.
